Mona Naffa

Mona Naffa is an American of Arab descent, born and raised in the USA and now resides in Jordan.

After a successful career in Pharmaceuticals, she left the industry to join Jordan’s Hotel and Tourism sector; a shift from medicine to memories.

In 2009 Mona built the Expedia brand in Jordan, and later co-founded Take22, a sustainable community platform that harnesses education, travel and innovation through travel opportunities, workshops, and student study programs.

Mona maintains her passion for bridging cultures through travel, creativity and storytelling, and invites you to experience Jordan through her local eyes.

Luma Qusus

Luma Qusus Awad is a Jordanian-Canadian artist and community-builder with a deep love for her country’s heritage. Despite having a background in law, Luma quickly realized that her passion resides in people, places and stories.

 

Luma Qusus Awad is most known for her jewelry brand, Inamullumani, through which she transforms memories and tells stories through wearable art pieces.Her collections have been showcased at international exhibitions, and have received multiple awards. Luma was also a trailblazer in creating jewelry for a cause in both Jordan and in Canada.

Being a native of the land and a staunch lover of the arts, Luma invites you to experience Jordan through her local eyes.

Day 1 / 03 May

Arrival in Amman & Airport Transfers to hotel.

Day 2 / 04 May
Al-Salt & Amman:

Tour of Al-Salt & Lunch at a beautiful restaurant over looking the eclectic architecture of the city
Return to Amman; stop at Royal Automobile Museum; Dinner and Drinks at The JR Wine Experience
Overnight stay at the hotel in Amman.

Days 3 / 05 May
City Tour of Amman: Roman Amphitheatre and Downtown Amman

Walking tour around old houses and villas of Jabal Amman; explore local craftsmanship and interact with artisans exhibiting in the area.
Head towards an exclusive tour of Tiraz Centre, home to the largest collection of Arab Dresses & Textiles. Lunch at the venue.
Dinner at Beit Sitti, cooking class with locals.
Overnight stay at the hotel in Amman.

Day 4 / 06 May
Madaba:

Walk through the historic city of Madaba; the biblical Mount Nebo; and the St. George Church.
Lunch/Dinner at Haret Jdoudna (literal translation: our forefathers’ neighbourhood – *Fun fact, once upon a time this national attraction was Luma’s great grandfather’s home, which her family later turned into a restaurant).
Overnight stay at the hotel in Amman.

Day 5/ 07 May
Petra:

Depart to Petra after breakfast
Overnight stay hotel in Petra.

Day 6 / 08 May

Early morning exploration of Petra; meet the local Bedouin community and hike up to the pinnacle for a scenic photo you will never forget.
Transportation to Wadi Rum (Fun fact, Wadi Rum is widely known to resemble Mars on Earth. Many acclaimed movies were filmed here: The Martian, Dune, Aladdin, Star Wars to name a few)
Overnight stay: Glamping under the stars

Day 7 / 09 May

Sunrise yoga in Wadi Rum; Camel ride & a Jeep tour of the movie sites.
Depart to the Dead Sea
Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8 / 10 May

Unwind with a rejuvenating day at the Dead Sea; optional tour to the Holy Baptism Site; hike Wadi Mujib canal.

Day 9 / 11 May

Depart to Queen Alia International Airport directly from the Dead Sea.
